Wiring a starter with integral solenoid

If you are using a starter with an integral solenoid, you can connect it in either of two ways, shown at the right.  You'll have to add onto the red wire (solenoid actuation) to reach the starter location.  The white wire will usually be omitted if you are using an MSD or other electronic ignition.
