FE Oil Pan
Normally we use a Canton pan, either with doors or without. Part numbers are in the Assembly Manual.
The dimensions shown define the practical maximum limitations of other pans.
Immediately below: With a remote oil filter, the width on the driver's side can be increased by 1/2". "Starter clearance" is there so that the starter can be removed and replaced easily.
The dimensions above define the maximum depth so that the pan doesn't hang below the chassis rails by more than 1/2". Since the 427 has 5-5.5" clearance there, those dimensions have proven to avoid "pan crashes" in any but the most extreme circumstances.
