All our molds are extensively braced
to maintain their shape. Almost all
molds are multi-piece.
This is the nose mold of the GT.
The ERA GT front body mold has about several components, all bolted together before the body is laid up. After the gel coat is spray in, fiberglass mat is hand laid, with special low-shrink tooling resin.. Everything must be dis-assembled at the time of de-molding. The rear body is even more complicated, due to the many air intakes, etc. The roof is hand laid, using carbon fiber cloth reinforcement to create an incredibly stiff composite. |
